I - one day - want to be an airline pilot or a corporate pilot.. i haven't quite decided yet. However, I am going into the Air Force to help pay for college and to get my life started.. what should I do in order to reach my goal of an airline pilot without being an Air Force pilot first? I have already had about four or five flight lessons but those were back in September and Im probably not considered current and would have to start over.. any help would be nice, thanks!

  1. Get you license outside of the Air Force...but its an expensive venture.

  2. the air force shold pay for your PPL, if that's what you want to do.

but i recomend getting your license on your own a price range of about $6000-$8000

  3. If you are already in the Air Force, and do not want to become a pilot in it. I have heard that some flight schools offer some accreditation, so you may be able to use your G.I. Bill to cover some of the costs.  Other then that go through your local FBO. They usually have much better prices then actual flight schools.

  4. m********e 17 times in a day and the air force might consider you

  5. Write down your goals and put a plan how you will achieve that plan.  You not have to read it every day, but review it every week and see what steps you have taken to achieve your goals.  Then change the process if necessary, but always keep the same goal.

By reminding yourself of your goals and committing yourself to achieve it, in the long run you will achieve it!

    Hope this helps

  6. Use the Air Force's asistance to get a degree (bachelors) in applied aviation science. That degree amounts to licences and coursework. I would also try to choose a job in the AF that'll get you training in aiation maintenance. That training will be equivalent to AMT licenses. With a degree in aviation science and AMT licenses, you'll be dual-rated which will give you many more job prospects. After getting that degree, you'll have opportunity to become an officer in the AF and possibly fly there, if you decide you want to. Good Luck!
