What should I do to redo my room?

I'm 15 would like to redo my room without completely redoing it, like I don't really want to get new furniture-it's too expensive. I don't want it to be real girly. I love alternative music and would somehow like to in cooperate that into my room, I'm thinking of painting the coldplay VIVA sign on my closet doors =]. But I REALLY need ideas. So please help me out! Thanks in advanced!

For the alternative style, vibrant purple is really in right now!  Most alternative music junkies (heehee) also cover their walls with posters, and magazine articles.  Bold, yet darker colors are really appropriate for this style such as blacks, whites, reds, purples, and even hot pinks. Abstract art is a go, mirrors are always cool, (and even some oldstyle clocks...if you get my drift ; ))

Blacks and whites are also good, because when you get older and possibly outgrow the style, its a perfect canvas to change into something more sophisticated.
