What should I do when my cat has poo stuck to her butt?

I got a new kitten a few days ago and she has poo stuck to her butt, that looks like it's painful. :p Don't really want to take her to the vet or groomer (too expensive). I heard that if you put Vasaline on it over night it should loosen it. Gonna try it tonight. Any other suggestions??

Boy are you . . .   Wipe it of yourself.  The hair around the cat's a**s may too long, the solution is to trim the hair short.

When my cats have p**p stuck on their butt I get a baby wipe and do my best to get it off...sometimes I wait until they are fed and sleeping because then there is no fight...but I get it off because otherwise where they sit or lay it may land ICK

you are going to have to keep her butt fuzz trimmed.  having p**p stuck can get them all blocked up and make them sick.

if you wash her rear in warm water with baby shampoo, you should be able to work it out.  then just rinse her off with warm water and dry her with a hair dryer set on "low".  be careful not to let her get chilled.

if it looks like diahrea take the kitten to the vet.

It may just be because it doesn't know how to clean itself up yet, it is only a baby.  Now you are "Mommy".  congratulations!

get a baby wipe and handle that!

my aunt loves cat and every time they pooh she does that so there always clean!

Warm water, a cotton ball and some toilet paper. Gently soak the poo with the wet cotton ball and when it is softened, gently pull it off. Do it tonight. It only takes a few minutes. Honest, I have done this a few times myself.

if your cat has fur and p**p is stuck to it DONT TRY VASALINE just simply cut the p**p off it happens to my 4 year old cat all the time

Yeah - quit making stuff up.  A cat will cleanse herself.  If your kitten is too young to do that, she was too young to take from her mother and will die soon.

maybe you should just try and pull it out with a tissue or a  baby wipe
