What should I do while visiting the Reno, Nevada area?

I will be spending a week there very soon and would like some tips from locals or people who have spent some time there. I already plan to go to Lake Tahoe and gamble at the casinos. I am looking for something different and creative to do or see. Something weird and wild perhaps. (no golf, no hiking!)

I like to take people to Virginia City to see an Old West town that hasn't moved along that much. They have a neat cemetery-I like to make up the reasons that people died.  Usually on the weekends there are events going on around town-check out rgj.com to see what is going on when you are going to be visiting.
