I'm graduating in a year. I'd like to find good jobs to apply for, especially on the East Coast.

  1. As you move forward in communications, there are going to be a lot of calls for you to work in sales. If this is something that you can do, I would. I majored in COM and film too, but work in neither of those fields, technically speaking. I ended up in event planning, which is a field that people in COM tend to be good at. It involves working with people, and being able to glean what they want and need out of a situation.

There are opportunities to do things like sales, or event planning, with most major studios, distribution companies, and even film foundations like AFI or the Museum of the Moving Image. Just look around, do your research, and see what strikes you!

The benefit of having a broad major like COM is being able to do nearly anything you want- just start hunting!

    Best of luck! :)
