Question:

What should I do with my HD DVD player?

I bought an hd dvd player for $200, about two weeks before they announced that thay weren't going to make them anymore. Now I have a PS3, so I don't even use the hd player anymore. I was thinking of giving it to my two year old to watch regular dvd's on, knowing it will probably get destroyed. my question is, can I sell it? What is it worth? I have five hd movies.

  1. I don't doubt that you can sell it:  You say that you have five HD movies, right?  I know of several people who have more than that, only to wind up feeling dupped (rightfully so) when HD DVD got abandoned.

I wouldn't allow it to get destroyed with all the $50 upscaling players around.  Chances are someone will buy it.  I'd suggest Ebay for this one--and if you don't feel like going through making an account and dealing with Paypal, ect, you may have an Ebay reseller in your area that'll handle selling it for you (for a cut, of course).

  2. use it as a doorstop

  3. just use it as a regular DVD for another TV.

    is a great upscaling DVD.

if you are going to sell it.

do it as a "upscaling DVD player with HD DVD reading capacities" that will help sell it.
