  1. 300 bucks!? no no no my friend, all you have to do is go to www.tigerdirect.com , I got a mobo and Intel Q6600 Core 2 Quad for less than 300.

  2. depending on how new the laptop is you could sell it on ebay people buy and sell broken items like that on ebay someone might want to fix it up or they might want it for parts I say this because I dont think donating a broken computer to charity would be to cool I think if your going to donate something it should be at least usable if you dont want to hasel with selling it you can take it to a computer store or a recycling center to dispose of it there are even companies around that will buy and old electronics equipment working or not

  3. You can donate your computer to a worthy cause. Peep this link...

    http://www.computerswithcauses.org/

If this doesn't answer your question just Google "donate computer" and you'll find more options.

    Lyte

  4. you could donate it to the salvation army, or charity of your choice  and take the $100 tax deduction.

  5. Take it into some place like PC Place as they will have a proper method of disposing it, if you want to chuck it.

If you are intending to sell it, please make sure that you specify that it is non-functional and could be for parts only.

    Either way would work.
