Question:

What should I do with my dog, she has a huge bump over her eye!?

I just found my dog today acting weird, all mopey, and realized she has a big bump over her eye. My sister said I should take her to the vet, but I'm flat broke, and kind of hoping that it will just eventually go away... Do you think its a bruise sore, I did accidentally hit her there the other day when I was sweeping off the top of my tent and she just happened to be behind me on my back swing, but she acted fine about it, and that was hours and hours ago...

Is there any antibiotics or dog aspirins I can give her you know of?

I not really sure what to be asking, do you think its a bid deal? Or will it just go away in time? Anything you know of that could help my situation would be greatly appreciated with 10 points!

Thanks!

Here is a photo I just took of her today with the bump on the left side of her upper eye!

(Sorry if it kind of hard to see, she has a lot of spots...)

  1. If you don't know what's wrong with the dog then why do you wish to give her medications and pain killers?

Is it a big bump? Is there puss? It might blind her and infect her eye and cost you triple the amount if it bursts. It'll probably need to be cleaned by the vet and then you'll get an ointment.

It shouldn't cost you much to have it looked at. Just take her to the vet.

Also, word of advice.... have a savings account dedicated to her and save up as much as you can every week in this account for her. Dogs are quite expensive if they get sick and you'll need to have money, otherwise (God forbid) she could get very sick or even collapse next time and you just wouldn't have any money to pay for it.

My neighbor's dog just collapsed and went into shock yesterday and she found it had been bitten by a wasp... it cost her quite some money to revive the dog but what if this happened to your dog?

    Good luck.

  2. I can see it.  It may be a cyst or a bug bite.  It may also be from accidentally hitting her there.  I think you should have your vet take a look at it.  If she needs antibiotics, your vet will prescribe them for her.
