Its my third year in High School and I have 9 credits, so yeah I'm a sophomore again. I am 16 and I have been partying for the past 3 years of my life and I no longer want this lifestyle. I am through everything and just want a good future, and I was wondering if there is any reason for me to stay in high school, I have a GPA of .5 with again, 9 credits. I really will do anything to try and get a good future, so please help me....

If there is no other way possible of getting my GPA high enough to get me into at least Community College then can someone please tell me of a job that I could possibly do to get good money, I don't care what it takes.

The only thing I could come up with is army or navy... i talked to my girlfriend about all this and she just burst out in tears so I really don't have anyone else to ask... I have a single parent and my mom is 56 and she doesn't have a clue about the education system and how it works (please dont ask why)...

please help me find something...

  1. Most cities offer free GED classes, which help you learn what you need to in order to pass the GED test.  Nearly all community colleges accept GEDs and high school diplomas.  Does your high school offer any kind of alternative campus (not for disiplinary problems, but for kids who have fallen behind)?  Try speaking wiht a school guidence counselor and seeing if she knows of anything in the area that may be of assistance to you... she has lots of resources!

  2. Talk to your school counselor.  They are always waiting to help you.

If you cannot go into community, most people usually go to the Military, as you stated.

If you want more help and stuff, feel free to buzz me.  But, talking to your counselor is heavily suggested, as they would have most likely seen a number of a variety of cases.

  3. Work your a** off. Take as many credits as you can during the school year. Then take as many as you can during the summer. Within the next two years you can can bring it up to an acceptable gpa. If you are set on getting a hs diploma then spend the extra year or so to get one. If not, take GED classes and get a GED. Then try for a community college, continue working your a** off and get an insanely good gpa so you can transfer to a good 4 year school and graduate with a Bachelor's.

Also, start considering what career you want to go into. Armed forces such as the arm or navy is great if you go in knowing everything about it and are prepared to handle it all.

Most importantly, you have to want to do it and follow through. You also need a good support system to encourage you. Good luck.

Edit: If it pays off? If you work hard and do what you have to then it will.

You could become an electrician, mechanic, or a plumber and earn around $50,000 a year after going to trade school if you don't want to do the 4 year college thing. Look for trade/vocation schools in your area. You can Google them or talk to a guidance counselor. Do you have those in your school?

And look into police officers, paramedics, firefighters as well. Those usually require a hs diploma, maybe a GED.

  4. son you need to work hard. take sat and stuff

  5. wow f*cking r****d get your act together. WTH 9 CREDITS AND UR GONNA BE A JUNIOR?! Anyways Go to summer school to help gain more credits. You probly won't have enough credits to graduate so maybe another year or two? GPA of .5........ Study little by little don't party everyday. Then go to a community college and if you do well transfer the next year. If u fail u always have the army and navy.
