He's got no tags and we can't keep pets in our apartment. I put up a posting on craigslist and fed him, but I think he's a stray. What should I do? SPCA? Humane Society? Animal Control?

  1. You can take him in personally to an animal shelter as your own pet. This way, if willing, he will go up for adoption imedietly.

If you drop him off as a stray, he will sit in a stray hold cage for at least 3 days before either being put to sleep or displayed for adoption.

I would go with the first answer so that he is not sitting in a cage waiting when he can be out and seen by possible adoptees.

You can also place an add in your local paper.....

  2. bring her to the humane society. they will take care of him. until you bring it there, buy food at a store and feed it so it doenst starve.

  3. call animal control or pick itt up and feed it some milk in an bottle or in an bowl and let him in the house and piut him in an small place and in the morning look up vets to go to near your house ok there is an vet some where on cross bay i use to take my dog their

  4. adopt it. care for it like it's your own pet.

  5. I would take him to the humane society.  Be careful though, if he is an alley cat that hasn't had much contact with humans he may scratch you up pretty good if you try to handle him.  If he is just a lost or abandoned cat then he should be easy to deal with.  The humane society or a pet rescue center should be able to find him a good home.

Also, you may check with your local newspaper, some papers will run "found" ads for free and you could run an ad with description of cat and hopefully if he has owners they will be looking for him.

  6. craigs list?!? come on people must everyone rely on the internet so dang much? dude, use some common sense, what do they do in movies, they make posters, so keep an i open and go to your neighbors, that live houses, anyone nearby ask them, and then you should ask a friend if they want a cat. If none of that works out, then there are places where they wont put them to sleep, the local shelter will, if its not pretty or a young kitten, chances are it wont get taken home, so theyll put it to sleep. even if they say they wont.

good luck with the cat dude!
