Question:

What should I do with this bike?

Here's the situation:

* I had a bike I didn't ride that much

* My friend was sick and was riding an OK bike he owned to get better

* My friend and I fixed up the bike I owned (he tuned it up...I spent $50 bucks on parts)

* Told my other friend, here's the bike, if you ever don't need please give it back.

* Took 2 months to pick it up....called to make sure he had it (was at a relatives house) and he told me he gave the bike to a needy kid down the street!

* I said "WHAT"...."dude that was for you, not some kid down the street"!!!! I get ticked b/c that's not the intention of letting him use it so....I ask for it back.

* I go and pick up the bike

* Guy who had the bike son gets upset b/c he is firends with the kid down the street that has it. Wonders why I am taking the bike away. Thinks I am some sort of bad person. Not too sure if it was explained to him in a clear manner what was happening.

* Bike is now tainted. I can't ride it now. There is so much drama and emotion attached to it. What should I do with it? Give it to the poor kid? OR find someone else to give it to? OR...just hold on to it for a while.

* Any other suggestions are welcome

Thanks!

  1. Give it to the poor kids down the street, he obviously needed it more than you. Be the better person and tell your friend they suck!

  2. take it to the dump.. or give it away to a goodwill

  3. give it to goodwill

  4. My goodness it's only a bike. You apparently had no need for the bike and had given it away to a friend...with condition that he give it back if he did not want it. Even though your friend did not hold his end of the bargain by giving the bike away it's obvious you don't have a need for it. I don't understand why you are being dramatic over the bike. Your friend saw someone who had more use for the bike and therefore gave it away. You shouldn't have gone over to the kid's house to get back the bike. Giving it to goodwill doesn't make you all that righteous (not saying it does the other way around), but if it's already in the hands of another and one who might have a need for it, then what difference does it make by giving it to goodwill? Just let the poor kid have it, it's only a bike not the end of the world... have a heart please. Be the adult and let it go for pete's sake.

  5. Give the bike back to the kid. You don't want it anyway! What will you gain from taking that away just know how to handle your friend.

  6. Give it to the kid especially if he is poor.

  7. Just give it give it back to the kid and think about helping the kid and his parents ( secret santa ).  If you wasn't using it anyway why would it hurt?  Besides helping someone no matter if you know them or not should make you feel better about yourself, but don't do it just for that.  Ever had someone help you just for the heck of it when you needed it the most?  It does make you feel better helping someone out even if its just opening a door for an elderly person and them thanking you for it.  Is that not what Yahoo Answers is for!!!!

  8. People can be unreasonable when blinded by strong emotions.  (Influenced by todays media :))  Act on how you want people to react to your decision.  If you give the bike back, people will be all "He's ok and realized his mistake", even though you arent at fault.  If you keep the bike, people will be all "That kid is eevvvviill~, we dont like him".

I just read the answers above.  Give it to goodwill so people can't say you're evil because you gave it to a needier person.

  9. Go make the kids day, give it back to him,  you can get another,  lets say you were that kid,, how would you feel,, if it was taken away,, and then brought back,  it not always about us,  its about other, and what we can do to change there lifes

  10. watch the seinfeld episode about the bike
