I bought a dvd recorder about 6 months ago at best buy and got an extended warranty for 3 years from them too. My recorder started putting distortion on 3 sides of the picture when watching things through it and also when I burned a dvd of a tv show it puts the distortion on the dvd which shows on all other dvd players. I showed the employees the dvd on their tv at the store and they said that was normal. Yeah right very normal to have fuzzy lines on the sides. Anyway I got them to send it for repair but they gave it back in a week or so and said it was working fine. So how can I get rid of this thing now since they wont let me return it since it is 6 months old.

  1. You should push the case with Best Buy.  You bought a 3 year warranty.  That means they should repair or replace it for those 3 years.  Talk to management at the store.  Be nice but firm.  You aren't getting what you paid for.  If the store doesn't help write to corporate headquarters.  Again, be nice but firm.  Give dates purchased, warranty information, problem, etc.

If that doesn't help complain to the Chamber of Commerce and your state attorney general.
