Question:

What should I eat before a track meet?

It's in two days, and I am running the 400 meter and the 200 meter relay. I am really nervous, I haven't been watching what I ate so far that much. I have to get into the top two to move on, please help.

  1. just eat something light, like a granola bar. trust me, being hungry is alot better then being too full. as long as its small, u should be good


  2. Eat anything with carbs the night before. it'll kick in. trust me.

    oh and ALOT of water. i used to drink like a gallon or more during cross country season a day.

  3. Well the day before the meet you should eat stuff like pasta and lots of fruit. Also drink a lot of water. The day of the meat eat really light food like fruit or granola bars and once again don't forget to drink water! GOOD LUCK!

  4. before a track meet for me, i don't eat anything until i'm done running. if you don't do that then you should eat something really light( granola bars or crackers) and don't drink a lot of water.

  5. Eat a light meal before the track meet (whatever meal is before it -lunch or breakfast) and then maybe like an hour before eat a banana or some raisins- they're great for energy and running.

  6. um, its actually better to eat more than go hungry becoz your guna feel sick during the race and that does not feel good. there were heaps of times i didnt eat and then ran a 400 or 800m and then i ended up feeling sick. so yea eat something sugary like a some snakes or frogs or something or even minties they are really good to help settle your stomach and drink lots of water.

  7. dont eat too much, but definitely eat something. you dont want to go to the meet with no food in your stomach but you also dont want to go with too much food in your body. also, drink enough water a day ahead of time so your body has that water in it. it'll help keep you from getting dehydrated. good luck with it!

  8. you can eat  2.5-3 hours before running

    dont eat junk, fat and too much anything

    your food must contain %10 fat, %20-25 protein and %65-70 carbohydrate

    dont forget fruit juice or whatever makes your stomach feel better
