Last time I made the big mistake of waiting until the last minute to eat something and it was like 3/4 of a bagel. (I was too nervous to eat...for some reason) I'm supprised I made it through the test without passing out.

Anyway...

My test is at 12:00 P.M. ...so I figure I'll wake up around 9:30 and eat a small breakfast and then a mini lunch around 11:00.

So far I've thought of these to eat/drink...

1.Glass Orange Juice

2.Glass Water

3.Banana

4.Scrambled eggs in a burrito w/ salsa

Mini Lunch- ...well I'm not sure....something that will give me energy. Pasta maybe..??

I would appreciate any of your "GOOD" ideas.

Thank YOU!!!

  1. A lot of tennis players eats bananas. 50% of this thing is made of DNA and it's very good to eat while you're exercising and before it. Some martial artists eats this right before the match and some tennis players eat during match.

I wouldn't suggest #1 &4 though. Never drink soda or juice, but I think pasta is a good idea. Some top olympic competitors drinks sodas with all the fizz completely taken out for energy. This way, since there's no fizz, the air won't develop in your body to slow you down or tire you out, and there would only be full of sugars left in the drink which stimulates energy. I do that too by leaving the bottle cap open for couple of days or weeks until it all go out.

  2. well im a brown belt in karate and my test go for 4-5 hours so here is what i would do:

for breakfast maybe a glass of fresh orange juice with a little bit of scrambled eggs and toast.

as for the mini lunch if i where you i would have

a glass of water with a little plate pasta salad and some fruits eg. apple ,orange.

i would recommen 30 min before the test that you have a banana and a small glass of energ drink.

i would also recommed the night before you have something like paster and get a good night sleep

good luck  and i hope you make it

  3. I have been teaching Kenpo for 18 years now and I know what you're facing. Your breakfast is fine and pasta for lunch is OK, but I tell my students to eat a light portion of rice with citrus fruits about 2 hours before the test with a large glass of milk. My opinion is the pasta seems heavier and the rice will give you the carbs you need to sustain your test. The milk is high in protein and that will help with cramping. The citrus fruit will also give you an energy boost that will last without making you jittery.

It works well for my students. Aside from that, you do Kenpo. That probably means you have it down already so just relax and have fun with it. Unless you're in a belt factory, you have more than likely already passed in your instructor's eyes.

Good luck, you're at a point where things will just get more and more fun and exciting.

  4. NO SALSA

  5. Hi there

As long as you eat something that's got protein in it such as banana's etc then you cant go wrong. Always eat at least two hours before any exercises routine to give your stomach chance to digest what you've just put in it. ;-)

And drinks lots of water as often as you can

    Best wishes

  7. I like your ideas for breakfast, sounds yummy. Whenever I have a tests for Taekwondo, I eat a salad with turkey or some kind of lunch meat on it with my favorite dressing.

    Good luck on your test.
