I cannot eat breads...well, I may once or twice a week, like half a bagel for breakfast.

Is it okay to eat an omelet though, a plain one?

Also, what can I eat for breakfast in order to not gain weight?

Thanks!

  1. Sure.  Have an egg white omelet with a lot of veggies.  Or just have black coffee and a fruit and nut granola bar (145 total calories).  Or have a hard boiled egg, and a peach (115 total calories).  Good luck; I'm right there with you, Girly.

  2. oatmeal or other carbs. you want to load carbs in the morning because it will give you energy so you can burn fat the rest of the day. Bread is good to but you said you cant' eat that. Just any clean carbs, by clean i mean not loaded with fat or sugar

  3. Breakfast is the meal that you're supposed to pig out. If you do it early in the AM, it'll suppress cravings during the day and you'll have lots of time to burn whatever you eat as energy. So eat whatever you want. Just avoid the bacon, and other greasy fatty foods.

I like oatmeal, fruit, tea, special K, OJ, etc

PS on your bagels, instead of cream cheese try a substitute, or plain yogurt. Also make sure you're getting 'whole grain' breads.

It's not about taking bread out of your diet, just about eating it in the right way.

  4. special k cereal, low fat milk, and fruit

  5. Porridge with berries. It's great.

  6. 'Dieting' isn't generally successful.  Sorry!  That's been proven time and time again.

Eating healthy isn't a problem, though.  I gained a minor in nutrition while studing my science degree.  One thing I learned is that you can't eat too much good, healthy food.  You cannot gain excessive weight and eat lots of good, healthy food.  It doesn't happen.  Most people equate 'dieting' with restricting your food intake but it doesn't have to be that way.  You can replace whatever 'bad' food you're eating with 'good' food and avoid those horrible hunger pangs or contractions.

I do about 4 hours of cardio a week and, trust me, I am starving by the time lunch rolls around!  The way I have managed to combat eating the wrong foods during that time (when I feel like stuffing my mouth with a cup of hot chips) is to have a huge breakfast.  I will eat (big portions) porridge with yoghurt or museli.  Both of these foods (low GI - refer to the link I have included below) sustain me to lunch time and, by lunch, I'm ready for a big salad, wholemeal/brown bread sandwich, and a chai latte!

All the best with it! :-)
