  1. We stayed in a 2* hotel and had a good clean room with our own bath/shower. It was very clean and had tea and coffee machine in our room. The breakfast was a buffet, so you just served yourself. They spoke good english too.

  2. Probably a continental brekkie.....coffee and a croissant.

  3. B&B's in the English or American sense do not really exist in Paris.

Most hotels do serve breakfast but that is usually in the French style which is very light and often no more than coffee and bread.

The best advice is to pick a hotel that is centrally located (which means in the 1st to 6th arrondissments) and, unless you are terribly wealthy, get something simple and inexpensive. You will not, after all, be spending much time there.

My personal suggestion is the Hotel St. Andre des Arts. I have been staying there on visits to Paris for almost 35 years. This website has more information and you may book there: http://www.123france.com/en/0/hotel-sain...

  4. Catherine P has got everything wrong!

B&B does exist in France, but not in Paris. It's called "chambre d'hote". You can sometimes get an evening meal too for a moderate price, but in that case you have to book ahead. A room in a chambre d'hote can cost between 40 and 80 euros a night for two people.

In Paris there are quite a few cheap hotels. Prices start at around 60 euros a night, but can go up to 150 in places with a higher star rating. That's the price for two people. A single room is only very slightly less, maybe 5 or 10 euros. Certainly very much cheaper than in the UK.

Cheap hotels can be found around the Gare du Nord area. Although it is not really central, Paris is fairly small and the underground railway system (the "Metro") is very fast and efficient.

If you're only going on New Years Eve, there is another, cheaper, alternative. You can stay up all night revelling.

  5. bok the best you can afford

you will get a room for the night and breakfast in the morning

    have a good time

  6. Bed and Breakfast A.K.A Chambre d’hote in French do exist in Paris. A Bed and Breakfast quality charter has been set up by Paris city council and the Paris B&B professionals to raise Paris B&B quality standards. Prices vary between 50 and 120 Euros a night for a double room breakfast included depending on area and facilities.

You can book your Paris B&B Online. When you do make sure the professional complies with the B&B quality charter, you will know because they have the B&B quality charter logos on their website. To find out what the logos look like and what the quality charter is about you can check out this B&B resource page:

From my experience two online booking website come out of the lot:

    Enjoy

  7. B&B is tipically British; you will never see any in France; hotels in Paris are expensive, so you will need to look around on the Internet I guess
