I will be leaving to go Skiing/Snowboarding in BA and Bariloche in a weeks time. Just wondering how cold it will be? There a couple excursions in Bariloche I would like for someone to rate them 5 being BEST! 0 for Don't Bother! 1) City tour of Llao Llao visit Mt. Campanario, 2) Victoria Island and Arrayanes Woods, 3) Puerto Blest and Los Cantaros Cascade w/ Frias lake. Will these events be okay to do during the cold weather? In BA the Tigre boat tour of the Delta and the 4 Fiesta Gaucha. Thanks!

  1. In Buenos Aires, cold (but NOT Canada like)

    see:

    Bariloche: COLDER!

    http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/find...

1st: Victoria and Arrayanes (last Arrayan forest in the world, Walt-Disnesy's Bamby setting, deep-blue cold lake)

2nd: Puerto Blet (due tyo it locations rains 360 days of the year, plus 300 hundred steps to Cantaros

3rd:  City Tour and Llao-LLao, if included Catedral Cerro (where you will probably sky)

4th: Trip to Puerto Mont, in the Chile side, over the Pacific! (you may need visa into Chile!!!)

5th: Enjoy Chocolate and Rainbow Trout

    Buenos Aires:

Delta, is fine but in winter you will need a nice warm day to really enjoy it.

Better to have a one day ferry trip to Colonia del Sacramento in Uruguay (you may need visa into Uruguay!!!)

Fiesta Gaucha: YES, go for it.

  2. Hi, the weather is absolutely crazy in Argentina this year, in july was a snow after 60 years then imagine...

It is a very cold winter this one, anyway one week ago the temperature was 27 degrees (as summer) after that madness, then a heavy cold again, then be prepared for both,i think it will very cold ,specially in the south where you're going to skying, but take clothes  for mid-time ,just in case.

Don't miss Buenos Aires!!!. It's a beautiful city, you must be young,as me but don't miss a Tango show it's something unforgettable. The best place is one called "Sr. Tango" .

Be aware in Buenos Aires, don't use expensives watches or that kind of things and ask the prices in bars, restaurants and taxis before consuming, it's very ussual that they made pay more to the tourist, but if you are inquisitive and sure you will pay the right price as must be.

    Good luck!!!

  3. the ski areas will obviously be a lot colder than BA. never been to Bariloche, but in BA you can expect highs in the 50's and 60's (F) and lows in the 40's. the ski areas are pretty far from BA.

  4. You should pack warm clothes. If you want to stay in a good hotel i reccommend you to stay in te Hotel Las Naciones. It is one of the most amazing hotel in Buenos Aires and in Argentina. if you want to learn more about this hotel see in http://www.hotellasnaciones.com.ar

  5. If you want to travel to Buenos Aires i reccommend you to carry clothes from winter. Now it isn't very cold, but it isn't warm enough. I reccommend you to visit the Patagonia in the south in Argentina. It has the most beautiful scenaries in Argentina. The Patagonia also has amazing hotels and friendly people. If you want to see more about the Patagonia see in http://viaggi.patagonia-argentina.com There you will find al you need to enjoy yourtrip in the Patagonia.

  6. Hi! It´s great that you decided to go to such beautiful country.

So, you´ll be in BA first, so don´t miss this great place to eat and listen to tango called "esquina carlos gardel" or carlos gardel´s corner (he was a tango singer).

Also, visit "la recoleta" it´s amazing how you see people  there drinking and eating pizza at like 4 am!!

About Bariloche, the weather there is right now sunny and the conditions for skiing are amazing.  The temperature is aroud 3 degrees celsius, around 37 degrees fahrenheit.

About your excursions, my rate would be: City tour of Llao Llao and the campanario: 3

I haven´t been to victoria island, but I have been to Arrayanes woods and it is pretty interesting.  I would give that one a 4.

And don´t miss lago frías (or frías lake) it is amazing!! I´m sure you´ll enjoy that one.

Don´t be afraid going to argentina.  Many people told me I would get mugged or whatever... not true.  Just be careful with your stuff, keep an eye on it just like you do when you go anywhere else.  I hope you have fun.  Good luck!
