What should I expect now that I'm a Navy girlfriend?

Me and my boyfriend have only been going out for a few months and he just left recently for basic training. I know he's going to be gone for long periods of time because he's going to be going on a sub, but I'm not really sure what to expect. Any advise?

  1. I just hope that the both of you are vey faithful to each other. During the port visits, I've seen alot of my buddies, who at the time, had either

girlfriends or wives, & they were not faithful! And then after our 6-month

deployment was over & we were all back at Stateside for a welcome

homecoming, these wives & girlfriends were all gorgeous for their

"men" & excited to see them, & they had no clue as to what went on

during that time. PLEASE, & I MEAN PLEASE, both of you remain

faithful to each other, okay? I'm not trying to place fear or doubt into your mind, okay? Just remain FAITHFUL!!!!!!!!

  2. tattoos, cheating, and drunkeness.  Good luck.

  3. make sure ur relationship is based on more than just s*x...sry that is the real truth.  expect to not hear from him for long periods of time and when he comes home there will be a period of adjustment.  expect the unexpected, he will work harder, longer hours and plans can change at a moments notice.  expect people to not understand what u go through and give u advice and opinions u don't want and never asked for.  it's a good life but a hard one.  there's lots of military family suport.  all of us that r left behind by are loved ones (my husband and father) are ready and wiling to suport u.  all u have to do is ask.  hope that helped.

  4. I'm a marine fiancee.

Its hard being involved with any man who is in any type of military branch

you are now dating the navy, and every single on of its members.

if anything goes wrong at his job, it is your fault.

be prepared for sitting up waiting for phone calls because him and his buddies went drinking.

cheating..eh it happens. but mostly when alcohol is involved

you have to be patient and understanding. and ready to forgive for all of his stupid mistakes.

be ready to apologize when you dont know what you did wrong...you probably didn't do anything wrong.

Its a hard road to travel down, but once he realizes your the one...expect total devotion and loyalty.

don't base your relationship around s*x.

and make sure you tell him exactly how you feel.

    always

if you two aren't completely honest and open about everything...your on a downhill slope

    and remember.

you have to hit your lowest point before things get better.

because if they're never bad...they've never been good..

    Best of luck

  5. You better have patience and being faithful is a big part of it. I know this cuz i've seen some pretty ugly stuff happen to navy couples.
