What should I expect on the first day of drawing class in college?

What should I bring besides drawing pencils, notebook and erasers. Do I need to bring a portfolio the first day to carry stuff? Do I need to bring drawing paper?

Even in college they should've given you a list of supplies needed, especially for an art class. Id have some basics if theydidn'tt give you a list. Can you call the school & ask about a supply list? See if you can get in touch with the instructor before classes begin. WOrst case, have some drawing pencils of varies types. Not the regular #2 pencils you use in grade school. Some blending stumps. A gum eraser. A drawing pad. Maybe charcoal or cray-pas. I doubt youll need a portfolio the first day but down the road you might.
