And I didn't quit finish my sumer work for my PreAP class so(didn't finish reading 2 books) will the teacher give you time to read it? 1. Teachers are pretty understanding the first couple days, they don't seem to mind tardies and absences don't usually count until the 4th day of school. For my school you have 3 days to change yourschedule around if you prefer to. But all High School's are different, I'm a sophmore myself and frankly your second year is better than your first year.

  2. You usually go to homeroom on the first day, so most likely since you dont know anyone, you'll sit in there until the bell rings. On the first couple of days teachers usually wont get mad at you for being late to class because you're trying to find your way around the school. Lunch line will probably be long. Sometimes teachers give test on summer reading the first day back. Hopefully yours wont.

  3. well luckily my first day of school already passed actually it was wednesday i was a bit anxious so obviously you should be to im sorta in the same situation cuz most of my friends are going to another school for the summer reading my teacher actually took it easy so well do something on it next week so im sure will take it easy too also be open to people and introduce yourself fortunatly im trying to do and i trust im making new friends and well the lunch line is always big so i didnt eat the first day. good luck!!

  4. Expect a certain amount of madness and chaos (people are lost, they have the wrong schedule or the wrong class, all while people are greeting long lost friends).

Your teachers will probably spend the first day putting out fires (students showing up the wrong period, to the wrong room, just lost...all while meeting brand new people and mispronouncing half of the names). Because they can have as many as 200 students each, it may seem like you are very anonymous...like no one notices you. They'll start to know you after a week or so.

It may be difficult not knowing anyone all day. But, in individual classes, there are going to definitely be some students who don't know anyone...they may see their friends before class or after class, but they may not know anyone *in* class. Look around...you'll know who they are...maybe just say "hey" to someone. Maybe they will be an obnoxious jerk and you'll be *glad* you don't know them...but maybe they'll be the first of many friends. Many of the freshmen in particular come in with a lot of drama...don't get swept up in it.

The teachers won't be mad at you...and you are not going to be alone on the "I didn't finish" list. Ask the teacher...even if it means stopping by a bit before school, if it is really stressing you...at least you'll know.

It will probably be period after period of "this is the class, I'm the teacher, and this is going to be how things are this year". My students tell me they are completely brain melted by the end of the day and don't want to read yet another syllabus or hear this teacher's set of rules (they are roughly the same)...but you can tell how strict each one is as the day goes.

    Best of luck to you!
