What should I expect to pay to restore old windows?

I have a 1930 house with wood windows that have many years of paint on them. They have ropes and weights and some of the ropes are broken. I'm told the windows are in great shape with no rot. A carpenter is working on a price to restore them for me ... remove paint and repaint, reglaze if necessary, new ropes and weights. What should I expect to pay per window for that type of work? I have 31 windows total. Please don't suggest replacement.... I want to restore.

  1. I'm not sure where you are as far as state, and what type of community you live in which matters.  Expect to find lead in the paint also, this should be a concern with you.

Expect to pay $150.00 each for quanity pricing, up to around $240.00

I respect the fact you want to restore, wish more people respected the fine craftmanship that used to exist.
