What should I feel in a self-exam of my Prostate gland?

I want to learn how to CORRECTLY examine my prostate gland. I think I understand how (what technique) to use. I just need to know how to feel for any abnormalities.

  1. go to www.webmd.com..put it in the search..that might help.they are looking to see if they are enlargement thats not normal..

  3. Go to the doctor. Performing a self-prostate examination is definitely not a good idea. He'll know what to do.

  4. I wouldn't do a self-examination. Best way to do it is to go to a doctor.

  5. Although one can reach back there and insert a finger in the r****m it's NOT a complete job for the prostrate gland exam. Not gonna get a true reading. Leave it up to the doctor to do that process.

  6. You physician is the proper one to do that exam. You do not have the training and dexterity to know how and what to feel. Only a skilled physician has the experience to know and judge size, firmness, and consistency of the prostate.

  7. can you email me how to do that, i've been interested but don't really know how, like what method!
