What should I get, a cell or computer??

I'm 13 years old and my parents dont think i need a cell phone of my own( i share one with my 15 yr old bro). They said that i could choose if i wanted a cell phone or a computer (like my bro) for 8th grade graduation. which one should i ask for ??? and PS they wont let me get txting unless i BEG them to let me pay for it!

Since you can't use texting, I would go for the computer. Just think you can still share the cell with your bro. On a computer you can look up anything and still stay in contact with your friends. Ever been on myspace? You could spend hours on there. Plus at 13 where are you going to get money to pay for texting? You can text your friends via email on your computer.

For an 8th grade graduation present i suggest get a cell phone. You are gonna need one in High School and a computer of your own is not a necessity, a cell phone is.

honestly, i'd choose a cellphone. life's hard without a cellphone, you cannot find somebody or other people cannot find/get in touch with ASAP. The only thing a computer's worthy is for playing games/online games, and surfing for things you're not supposed to be looking at. So being you as a girl, i think you'd only be using your computer for research, surfing, chatting, and doing assignments; why the h**l would you need a "personal" computer then?

i'd rather go for something that would be worthy for me. let's say you have an appointment with your friends at the mall and you want to find them or say something to them, like "i'm going to get some food first."  you can do that instead of waiting for them and telling them, saving you time. hope you understood my point.

You know about texting, somehow, someway your parents would pay for that right? and what's wrong with begging your parents? they're your parents.

Go with the computer, you really don;t need a cellphone until you start driving.
