He's turning 17 and we met through work. He's not really a close friend and we've only hung out once but i still want to get him something for his birthday. I just don't want it to seem weird because we haven't known each other for very long. So what certain present would fit this situation?

Thanks for the help.

  1. Believe it or not a simple Happy Birthday will do. There is no rule or compromise that you NEED to buy anything, really.

You do this only to your VERY CLOSE friends....

Don't start something it will become a Law for every year...because next year you will feel the pressure to comply again, and again and again every year........

  2. Get him his favorite breakfast, like his favorite Starbucks coffee and his favorite pastry. Or you could also treat him to lunch. Keep it simple to mark the occasion, something more material might be misinterpreted if you are of different genders, or might make him uncomfortable.

  3. Socks!

Or maybe a pair of self-designed sneakers (:

  4. A comic card and put in some scratchies............

  5. Gift Cards are always a good idea (:

Or just do something nice for him, like buy him lunch or breakfast, and a happy birthday (:

  6. Get him an electronic gadget. We guys worship electronics. Something like Ipod, don't go overboard and spend more than you shouldn't.

  7. A small potted plant.
