What should I get my wife for our 1 year wedding aniversary? I am currently deployed to Iraq and I need ideas

There is a chance that I will be home for our anniversary, but I can not be sure. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Look for soemthing she mght like online, pay for it and have it sent to her house.

Since the traditional 1st year anniversary gift is paper, why don't you print off a beautiful part of the lyrics to one of the songs you used at your wedding or maybe her favorite romantic song or poem. You could format it in a pretty type font, email it to a stateside friend or relative, and they could have it printed out at a copy shop on a beautiful pale pink paper.

Then they could get a nice frame for it and wrap it in pretty giftwrap. When you know they are going to take it to her, you could have some pink or red roses delivered to her house as an extra surprise. I think she would LOVE that. I know that I would if I received it. She can hang the framed poem (lyrics) on the wall and think of you every time she sees it.

You could log on to JC penny or some such known store and pick up something she'd like. A piece of jewelry or brooch or scarf.

Or a photo frame that she can put your photo.

Or log on to eBay and shop.

The ideas will flow as you see the catalogues.

From a store like JC you can get it home delivered. Also it can be exchanged if it does not fit or something.

A beautiful piece of jewelry is always an option.  I would buy a 14 K gold heart with crystals...on a 14K gold chain....Something she will treasure forever.  If you do not get home, send a card with it that your heart is with her always....

Carry some exotic jewelry from Iraq for her. You get such good stuff in these Arab countries.

Flowers.  Call the florist and order her a beautiful arrangement of flowers.  That way it will arrive . . . even if you don't make it home in time for the anniversary.

First off, Thank you for all you are doing for country.  

Second, send her flowers.  If you are home, maybe you can bring them yourself.  Do NOT let her know that you are coming home.  So when you come to the house and ring the bell you will be there with some flowers.  Actually, maybe you can ditch the flowers, if she sees you I am sure she won't even notice the flowers.

If you aren't home, send her flowers with a card telling her how much you miss her and wish you were with her.  

Or a video saying it.  I am sure if that's all you got her, she wouldn't be disappointed

first off don't tell her you might be home because it might just bring her hopes up then crush them, then if you do come home  tell her and surpise her with your return and get her a stuffed animal whatever her favorite animal is

Have a buddy take some photos of you and then on the back of each photo write her an "I Owe You" and express mail them to her.  Make them a mix of the practical and the erotic.  One could be for a night out on the town with dinner and dancing, another could be that you will give her a full body message and suck her toes.  Think about what turns her own.  A smart husband gives his wife what she needs and wants, and not what he thinks she needs, so: Think about what tickles her fancy.

If you can't make it home but can call her that would be the next best thing.  You will have plenty of time to give her Anniversary presents.  Just come home to her safe and sound.

A traditional gift is paper for the one year anniversary.  My husband bought a lovely book for me so it was something I could always keep and use with our family.  You should get her something meaningful to you, and her...and your future.  I am sure that she would be thrilled that you thought about her at all and whatever you give her will be perfect!
