Question:

What should I give as a goodbye present for pre-school staff?

There are eight staff - so a "communal" gift is needed. All of my children have been through their doors, so we would like to get something useful and memorable - but don't want to single out individual staff members. We are considering a butterfly net and caterpillar vouchers, a dolls house, art equipment etc Any ideas?

  1. Some things that I've received..

    Chocolates/Candy

    Lunch for all staff

    Goodie Bags

    Giftcards

    Children's Books

  2. A crate of wine

  3. I work in a childrens centre and chocolate always goes down well...spesh tins of roses, celebrations ect...it can all be shared with the staff. Equipment for the nursery is also a good idea. I dont  know how well vouchers would work. Ask a member of staff if theres ne thing specific they need.

  4. i'd get things that will stay with classes- like a tent

ask the teachers to make a short list of their needs

or ask the director for needs ideas.

    what a nice parent!

  5. Send in lunch for a day.

  6. If you are wanting to thank the staff, then I don't think that a gift of equipment for the children is a great idea.  That's not a gift for the staff.

When my son left nursery, I gave the staff a communal gift of really nice china mugs and a large tin of biscuits. I had noticed the cups they had in their coffee room were tatty looking.    I also gave my son's nursery teacher a gift of stationery - a writing set with note cards, paper and a nice pen.   Handy for writing thankyou notes to parents, lol.  :P

  7. What a lovely idea, you are a wonderful parent showing gratitude for the hard work that the staff have put in to your kids so no matter what you get, they will be touched. How about a parachute for parachute games or your idea of a butterfly net is also lovely. Or you could give them some money towards their next stff night out, that may not be equipment for the nuresry but it will be remembered!! Also, just some kind words will be wonderful as praise ans appreciation is often lacking in the under fives sector. Hope your children enjoy big school!

  8. Chocolates, card and perfume

  9. I have taught Preschool and been a day care director for over 25 years.  I have received many different things.  Our staff always appreciates food of some sort that we can all share and enjoy.  Chocolates are always good.  A cheese and sausage tray with some crackers is nice, too.  The edible bouquet is a wonderful idea.  A gift for the center is also appreciated, but along with that give something for the staff to share and enjoy.

  10. I work at a pre-school and one of our parents gave a bouquet to the staff from Edible Arrangements.  It is expensive, but was a hit with the staff.

  11. u should give your staff candels, roses , choclates ,etc
