I am going to England for a couple of weeks soon, and I will be staying with a host family for 3 days. I need to get them a gift that is between $5-$10, but I have no clue what I should give them. Any Ideas?

  1. I think you should give them something American- something that they will remember you by and not just something they could have gotten themselves.

It might be a little obnoxious to do something with an American Flag on it though, so try for something a little more subtle.

Maybe something from the state you are from? Like a nice Christmas Ornament that says Greetings from New York, or some other sort of decorative trinket.

  2. I would say either:

    - peanut butter chocolates or candies and peanut butter hot chocolate mix as we don't really have peanut butter chocolate over here,

    - Ingredients and recipe for s'mores as they won't have heard of them and its a cute idea

both these ideas would be especially good if your host family has kids.

    - or a book or something about your home town/state

  3. I would get them something you enjoy to do. Example: If you like to play catch, a baseball. (Baseball is a more American sport, so that would work if you are going for the remembrance of America thing).

Just something that if you got, you would appreciate.

  4. candles always work
