What should I know before I move to Florida?

Example: When we relocated to Texas 5 years ago from San Diego, CA, we should have been told...Only houses, milk and gas are cheaper....Property taxes are doubled...You will need 2 wardrobes winter/summer...Ant bites hurt...Soil problems, so water your property and around slab...Roads are ridulous...Everybody "claims" to be Christian...Employees have no rights...Poor service in Restaurant...ETC.

  1. Check out "myflorida.com".This site has useful information on the state.

    Now as for personal preference having lived in both states,the list you have could hold true for most  areas of the U.S.Florida has it's problems but in the past 10 years improvements have been made to improve schools,roads and Tax structure.The restraunts in the state are great and there is entertainment from music to sports to points of intrest.

    What clothing you have for Texas will do for Florida,just add a swim suit and water..

    Florida is my 2nd home and would be my first.

  5. Florida is beautiful,but has high humidity,flying roaches(palmettos),and hurricanes!Also the salaries tend to be lower if you are in the medical; field!There are some plusses such as beautiful beaches,and warm winters!Also pretty palm trees,and the stores are clean!
