  1. Yes, you have to like ( as americans say ) spicy cabbage ( kimchee ) a LOT and try to take an international flight onboard Korean Air. Land in seoul ( i'm korean so i know )

  2. Go to korea whenever you want

a visiting friend once told me that korea was the hottest and coldest place she had ever been, but the weather is quite nice now

-you should go to Seoul, where there is the central entertainments and stuffs

-there is really not much to do in Korea except sight-seeing, don't get ur hopes too high

-try going to Everland, Carribean Bay, or Ocean World, up to you, though nothing here like 6 flags or disney world

  3. I think that you should make sure you're familiar with Korean food. Since most of it is quite cheap (the exchange rate is awesome) I would find out where the best places to eat are. If you're traveling for fun then there are several awesome tour packages included with the hotel and even air fare. Visit the DMZ but beware NOT to bring a camera. If you really want to then make sure you take pictures in allowed areas only. There has been an incident when a tourist was shot because they wouldn't comply with the orders from the several armed guards paroling the border. There are several shops on the streets but the majority of the things they sell are fakes and copies so beware that you could be fined for carrying fakes back on the plane. We were lucky that nobody noticed the pirated movies we purchased for 1 dollar a piece.

They have a very cheap train system. If you go to Seoul there are tons of places to visit and usually there are signs to direct you towards those places. Don't worry about the language since the majority speak a good amount of English. The hotels are quite nice and affordable. The people are quick to help you find your way if you get lost. I went in the winter so it was pretty chilly. The water surrounding one of these temples was completely frozen and my visit to see the peace train was ruined by the freezing cold wind so try to go at the beginning of summer. I would try and contact exchange students or teachers that live in the area if you want help. I have several friends that are there now as well as Koreans who I will go visit at some point.

    And remember... BARTER BARTER BARTER!
