Question:

What should I look for in a Women's Driver?

Currently I have a Slazenger 12 degree Driver, I hit it pretty accurately but I want more distance. I tried my boyfriends Ping G10 and got almost 40 more yards, it is stiff, and I have always been told woman should use flex due to slow swing speed. I do have an average woman's swing speed. I have been looking at the Taylor Made Burner 10.5 Degree, they also have a 13 degree, Callaway makes an 11 degree, and I almost think that would be perfect, but I truly do not know enough about driver's to know what is best for me. If you have any helpful insight, please answer. Thanks!

  1. I would go to a local golf course and try a demo with an interchangeable shaft. Almost every major brand have one now. If you have an average woman's swing speed you might want to get a woman's shaft with a lower degree head. Another option is for you to go to your local golf store and let them fit you for a driver. Your best bet is to go to an Edwin Watts or Golf Galaxy they have the best technology for that.

  2. My wife uses the Taylor Made Burner Draw, regular flex and standard length, 10.5 degrees.  She is 5 ft 8 and hits it about 220 yards.  The draw setup turned her normal high fade drives into straighter longer drives.  She loves it.  She spent a lot of time on the simulator at the golf shop til she found the right setup for her swing.  Make sure you start with your old club to set a baseline.  Then you know what the newer clubs can provide.

  3. Depending on your handicap, I would go based on that. High Handicap go with generic and middle go with Slazenger and if low handicap go with callaway or Talylormade and willingness to pay.

  4. You should check out the driver reviews over at Golflink - they have a ton of info on women's clubs. Good luck!

  5. you should look for me

im 14 and a great driver

    hahahaha

  6. I say that the mens drivers do hit the ball farther, but they are harder to control. So if you want control, go with a womens club. Mens clubs are traditionally longer too. The TM is a great club and you will enjoy it if you can get the ball into the air. However, the callaway is good too. I say hit both at the store, and see which one offers less mis hits. Then, buy it, grip it and rip it.

  7. Go to golf shop talk to a pro. You can try all the drivers you mention see which one is right for you.
