I want to buy my boyfriend a wakeboard for Christmas, but I don't know what to look for. He is 6'1" and about 180 lbs. and has really long legs. So if you have any general or specific info it would be helpful. Thanks!

Some general info: Size of board, style, general cost, a good place to find bargains( I'm in Anaheim, CA). Anything else you can think of.

  1. 141 cm would be a good size of board.  I am 6'2" and ride a CWB Pure.  Check out http://www.wakeside.com and click on the wakeboard section.  Most of the manufacturers on the site have boards of all price ranges and abilities.  Each manufacturer listed (i.e. Liquid Force, CWB, Hyperlite, etc.) also shows a scale for each board indicating the Pop, Feel, and Ability.  Place your cursor on a board and it will display the scale of that board.  Most sites also have closeouts for 2006 models since 2007 is just around the bend.  Prices run anywhere from a couple hundred to as much as $500.  You also need bindings, if he doesn't already have them.  Some sites also offer board and binding packages available.  Liquid Force Alpha's are really comfortable, I have a pair and really like them.

    Good luck.
