I am a math teacher and bought two fish today for my classroom. They are zebra danios. One is about 1.5 inches and the other is about 1 inch. I was going to name them Pythagoras and Euclid, but I thought I'd open it up to you for suggestions. Any good ideas? Something math related, please!

  1. You should have another four danios as they are schooling fish.  I'd suggest a couple leopards and a couple pearls.

That allows you to use more historical names.

Gauss, Agnesi, Einstein or Albert, Hobbs, Mobius, Khayyam, Neumann, Boyle...so many names, so few fish.

    Oh, can't leave out Archimedes.

Oh, that kind of name.  Decimal, Fraction, Square/Cube Root, Area, Peri(meter), Factor, Matrix, Diameter...still a lot to choose from.

I kind of cheated.  I checked the below site for names that I recognized and a couple that sounded pretty good.

  2. Zeta and Beta

  3. Constant and Variable?

  4. "Did my homework" and "Didn't do my homework"

  5. Acute and Obtuse

    Radius and Scalene

    Prime and Composite

    Albert and Einstein :)

  6. u could name them as squared or divider

  7. I think I like, + & -

  8. how about radius and scalene

  9. Just a tip, zebra danios are schooling fish and are only happy in groups of at least 3, 6 is best for the happiest fish. If you have room, get at least 3..6 is best.

  10. Oblique and Radius :D

  11. sin and tangent?
