What should I name my new puppy?

Question

She is 2 months old, a lab mix. She is solid black, I rescued her from the S.P.C. A. and I am looking for a "power name" I coined that term for my last dogs name, I named her Satan but called her Satie until I needed her to be protective of me, or if I felt threatend, then I would call her by the other name and her hair would stand on end (she new that was when it was time to be protective) and really all anyone needed to do was to hear her name and they would walk off.

So I am trying to come up with one similar to that again, a strong, "power name" that could be used in times that are needed for protection, but can be shortened to a cute version for everyday.

I am currently toying with the following names, but none really jump out at me: Lucifer aka Luci; Ruthless aka Ruth; I also like, shadow, & midnight but i cant think of a shortened version of those.

All suggestions will be appreciated.

AWW  a rescue ^_^ so cute and thoughtful of u , anyway this is a personal ,question, name it something unique so dont let someone elsename it, but i dont think those are good, because there are so many names like thatm so try something a little like this like midnita or something, anyway shes urs so dont let someone else name her ^_^

I like Storm but I also think that your choice of Shadow is a good name.

Being a retriever I also like Seeker,and Magic

Well, I can't think of an actual name to give you but I thought of a shortened version of midnight. I'm not sure if you'll like it - but Mindy. & then it kind of goes with Satie. Satie & Mindy. =)

I usually wait till I see what the dogs personality is like to name it.  So that their name will fit them.  And easy for them to learn. If you name her shadow, you can call her shad for short or dow. I can not think of a power name for midnight unless you call her mindy for everyday.
