Question:

What should I paint in this picture?

I've been painting this picture for a couple weeks and I keep covering up what I've painted in the background. I'm not satisfied with anything and I am drawing a blank! Help! I've tried painting a city underneath, a barn, water...

Any suggestions?

I photocopied it, so the picture quality isn't very good. I'm using a shiny acrylic paint...

  1. It is kind of hard to tell from the copy....what is it you are trying to paint? Where are you painting from? Do you have a reference? Or you just started from imagination? What about trees? What you could do too, if it is driving you crazy, leave it, start another different work, and go back to it.  Absence makes the heart grow fonder...

  2. Take a few classes on perspective and study the space photos available on line...the idea is interesting, the execution primitive, sort of Gramma Moses goes to the moon.
