I am working on all the science pre reqs at my community college to get into the Zoology undergrad program at UF and then I want to go up to my masters in Zoology. What is a helpful thing to either double major in or minor in that will give me a better selection of jobs?

  1. Statistics, GIS technology, writing skills.

  2. If you want to go into zoo management or to lead your own wildlife organization,  I would suggest a business degree. That way you have the business background along with the animal background.

  3. Maths or chemistry would be helpful if you are interested in the real 'science' of zoology.

Alternatively, plant science, geography or environmental science, would be most helpful if you are interested in ecology.

Also psychology would be fun if you are interested in behavioural ecology.

In the end I guess it depends on your interests and what aspects of zoology interest you the most!

    Enjoy :)
