Question:

What should I put my wedding favors in?

We are going to have almost like a candy buffet at the tables so people can fill their bags with what ever candy they want instead of us picking something that our guests may not like. Originally we were going to use organza bags, but I've been thinking some of the loose candy might get stuck to the bag... I don't know if it really would or not. Do you think the candy would stick to an organza bag if it was like an unwrapped hard candy or like an m&m? Or do you think an organza bag would work? If not what's an alternative to give the guests to fill with candy? Normally I'd just say forget about the organza bags and play it safe but my FH really likes the idea of using them.

  1. i think the bags will be fine.  Unless the candy is wet - pretty sure it won't stick.  Really how long will the candy last too - most people will eat it as soon as they fill their bag!!

just make sure you have LOTS of spoons on the table so people don't use their hanfds!!!

I would also incl labels on the dishes.

  2. If you plan on serving chocolates (like M&Ms and such) I would go with a cute box, or do what we're doing with our candy bar ... chinese takeout boxes. They're cheap, and they come in all different colors, and people can use the handle to carry them without worrying about the candy getting stuck or melting. plus, it's perfect storage for the ride home that night, or the next day.

  3. As long as the candy stays dry i dont see why it would get stuck...

I've been helping plan a wedding and Dollar Tree has real cute little boxes you could probably put the candy in... but i've also seen some Wilton's tins at Wal-mart, that come with labels, so you could personalize them as well.

  4. You didn't say what kind of theme or colors you're having, but there are lots of creative ways, like shells or little boats for a beach wedding; tiny golf bags for an golf wedding; witches hats for a halloween wedding; slot machines for a Vegas wedding ... you get the idea. If you don't have a theme for the wedding that would work, I would suggest using a theme for the candy, like little pinatas.

  5. get small chinese food boxes . you can have them marked with your wedding info.

  6. i was bridesmaid 2 weeks ago and the men got sticks of candy in little cream top hats with pink chiffon around the top hat to match are dresses, and the ladies got little cream purses with pink chiffon bows and little cubic zirconia stones on the clip with heart chocolates in them with.

  7. you can use small boxes as well, and even though organza bags are cute, but people normally just throw them away.

i normally get my boxes (or bags) at www.papersource.com. They have the BEST prices. I hope this helps.

  8. I think organza bags will be quite allright! For some added fun I think you should get different color ones, but that match your wedding colors.

    Like that

    Good luck and congrats!

  9. I don't know if it would or wouldn't get stuck to the bag, but you might want to play it safe. Not only that, but organza bags might be hard to hold and fill up. Maybe a little favor box or bags like these would be easier.

If you want to stick with the organza bags, maybe you should just get less meltable candies.
