I run a cleaning business and many of my clients I contact frequently tell me they have a contracty with a different company right now, and If I would like to send in some information for when that contract expires I may do so. The problem is, you cannot just simply put my prices on a flyer because that's not how cleaning companies work. We charge by the size and frequency of a job, there is no set standard rate. What should I do to grab more interest and potentially land more accounts?

  1. Before you spend money to send out anything, find out why you have lost so many clients to this new company. Were their fees significantly less, did they offer to do a type of cleaning that you don't offer, or what.

Often, if clients go with a cheaper company for any service then a callback to the client (about halfway through the contract) can give you a feel for if they are satisfied with the cheaper service or not. Many times they're not and you can try to get them back.

As for sending prices to the clients you've lost, they already know what you're charging them so that's no secret. . For instance you could say $1 a square foot for daily cleaning, $2 a square foot for weekly cleaning or whatever your rates are.

    Good luck!! : )

  2. Make a rollerdex style business cards. One`s with slots to have a potential customer to look you up. Use floresent Green stock so it will standout from the others. and use raised lettering with some shadowing for a 3 d look.

  3. I like the other answers... On any flyer you will need hook.. soemthing to tell them about you and also something that relates to them... What is important to your customer...

hint: i'll bet its not really the price

Why not instead of expense of flyer call all potential customers and offer one free cleaning (or one room of cleaning ) or something like that?  maybe free window cleaning with first month's service?

If you have a buisness journal in your town whynot call and ask about their seminars for advertising or see if you can get your company featured in a news article.????

  4. spend a little more money for color fliers, possibly colored thicker paper.  lots of time people pick up the most attractive thing and just go with that.

about the prices, mention the range, and offer "FREE QUOTES to meet your individual needs".  It allows you room to fluctuate depending on all circumstances and makes them feel special and that you are accommodating just them!
