Okay so Chili's is hiring hosts near my area and I printed out an application and I am planning on turning it in either tmrw morning/afternoon or Sunday morning at the latest. I have never worked before and I am turning 18 in November. Well, what do you think I should do when I turn in my app? Ask for the store manager, and then tell him/her what? What do I say? I want to be fully prepared with what I should say to the manager. Please help.

  1. you tell the manager this:  since u need to hire someone ,i'm here and need a job why not try me out?, then please...

  2. just be straight to the point. put off a go getter attitude and believe in yourself...also

ive been in this business managing a while...

    youve never had a job.

never worked in the food biz.

and you are 18 and never worked a job.

dont be surprised if your interviewer asks you if you are "willing to start at a lower position."

just say yes. while the hostess position is relatively non-laborous...it is many times often reserved for people with veteran status as a server or someone way better looking

best advice: act like you give a d**n

while the hostess position is relatively non-laborous...it

  3. Avoid the lunch/dinner rush hours and call ahead - ask if someone will be available to talk to about your app.

My guess is they will review it, THEN call you in for an interview.  But if they want to speak to you in person right away:

"Hi, I'm interested in applying for a job here.  Who should I speak to?"

When you get them, introduce yourself and explain that you have filled out an application.  Ask when you can expect to hear from them about an interview.

Thank them politely.  "I hope to hear from you soon."

Smile - first impressions are everything.

    Good luck!

  4. you turn in your applicaton. The manager will deal with you if and when he oir she chooses to.

  5. I am sure it's not the first time the manager is dealing with some one in your situation......I don't think sucking up to him would help.  I would just act normal, be respectful and hopefuly it's not the manager bad day.
