What should I say when... (HELP!) (Best answer will be givin!)?

Hey!

I have a question-

What should I say when my mom takes me to PetSmart next, to tell her I want to get a gerbil?

She already knows that I want one, but she still is not definitely sure!

Any ideas?

research a lot about gerbils in your free time. gerbils are nocturnal and they like to live together, so you should consider getting two gerbils. get it the same s*x or else you'd get a whole lot of gerbils you dont want. or you could get a costly operation done on your geribls to spay or neuter them so they cant have babies (these opperations arent very succesful so i dont recomend it). if your mother thinks oh alright, i'll let you have two gerbils and one week later she finds five gerbils in the cage she wont be very happy (i've experienced it....).

XD the way me and my brother got a gerbil (two actually) was because my brother (the older one) "researched" gerbils (more like look at the pictures in the book but oh well XD) and had enough information to explain to my father how gerbils would be good pets for us. so i did something corny and i cut out a piece of paper into a shape of a giant sunflower seed and wrote a poem about gerbils in it and gave it to my father. i forgot what my brother did but it was something to do about arts and crafts. i think he drew a gerbil.... but anyways, we got the gerbils becuase we promised that we'd pay for the gerbils (gerbils only) and we'd take care of it (which we didnt.....XD). that was when we were 7(me) and 9(my brother) oh well. at least it worked!!

i'm guessing you're older than us back then so i suggest you research them a lot and ensure your mother about how good they will be and make sure that you ABSOLUTLY TAKE CARE OF THEM YOURSELF!!! since me and my brother didnt take care of them (my mother and father did) we lost our privliges of getting pets after we moved XD. the cage will reak if you dont clean it at least once a week. thick bedding is good because gerbils are burrowing animals and they like to dig a lot. dont get low pan cages because they kick out bedding a lot. the best cage for them is an aquarium. ten gallons for one or two, add five gallons to every other gerbil.

Dont Go There. They are nasty and they multiply. Only have gerbils, if your going to own a snake.

Well, just ask her, "Mom, I would really like a gerbil. Can I get a gerbil?" If you have the money to pay for it you could also tell her that. But keep in mind you have to get the cage and the food and water and stuff. Hope I helped!

If you use this statement, that means you have to do research on gerbils. Go to wikipedia and just read about them and learn about the foods they eat, how to take care of them, what they need to stay healthy, etc. Do that, and trust me, you'll be on your way to a gerbil in no time! Parents like it when you take responsibility in your actions.

honestly and this is from personal experience they don't make that great of a pet. yes they are cute but they are hyper don't like to be held and can be really really mean. and they stink. ive never meet a nice one and they are basically there to look at and that's about it if you want a good pet try rat, mouse or something of that nature those are smarter and so much better.

Tell her youll do anything ull clean the house wash the car keep your room clean i mean tell her something she wants to hear something that needs to be done around the house

sit down on the internet together and research them. If your mum understands what they need and that you know enough about them to care properly for one they she probably will say yes!

Show her how responsable you are by printing out things from the internet and showing her  how well you researched them and priced everything with all of that info shell deff do it next time your at petsmart your getting a gerbil (thats what i did to get my mom to  let me get my ham)

i say go over to the gerbils and say "how cute are gerbils!!" and "i wish i had one!" she will cave in and say "pick one out." then you will have your pet gerbil!
