At an interview they always ask why u left your last job. I was fired because I was accused of something pretty bad that I did not do. How do I get around the subject when asked in an interview?

  1. Answer truthfully but short, to the point, answers. Try to develop a way of making them understand that it was not your fault, without sounding too defensive. Good luck!

  2. Stay honest. Try not go get too worked up. Don't over-explain yourself or you look like you have something to hide. Just stick to the facts. Something went down that wasn't work related, and you had to be let go. Plain and simple. Most of the time, employers won't ask for more...but if they do, just simply and briefly state what happened, and whatever you do....stay to the point and do not speak badly about any of the people involved, even if they deserve it. It makes you look better in the long run. If this bothers a potential employer, better to get it out now...as it may have grown uncomfortable working in a situation where you felt like you were hiding something.

    Good luck!

  3. You were fired and that has not changed, so don't try to say "you were not guilty" as you did not pursue fixing it, or if you did, you did not win.  Simply say I was released from my last position. You will have to come up with something beyond that.  If you were fired, it was work related...can't "fire someone from life".  (retired IBM exec mgr)

  4. Just be honest with them.

  5. theres no fool proof way around it, you need to present the facts and prove to them you really had no part in what happened, even then some employers wont hire you but theres not much more you can do (other than lie which i do not suggest), good luck

  6. you need to say i was ask to leave from my last job from circumstances unrelated to the job. if they want to know what that was you tell them what you were accused of, but you have to find a way to present it so that it is not possible you did it

  7. Anything other than honesty will come back to bite you in the butt.  Always tell the truth.
