I start working this week and would like to make a good impression. The only requirement is that I say my name when greeting the customers.

  2. How about

Hi Welcome to "Say Name of Resturant" , I'm "Say your name", and I'll be serving you tonight.  Is there anything I can get you to start ?

  3. Say "Good afternoon (or morning or evening), my name is x*x, and I will be your server today.  Please feel free to ask for me should you need anything."  If you are waiting the table as well, go ahead and ask if you can take their drink order at that time.

  4. "How's everyone doing tonight?  I'm ----- and I'll be your server today.  Can i start you out with a drink?"

  5. no idei

  6. How about" Welcome my name is__________.  Hpw are you today.  Let me take you to your table.  Enjoy your lunch and let me know if I can be any assistance to you.

  7. General Lee is absolutely correct. Just say whatever makes you feel comfortable. you dont need to memorize a paragraph..

I used to work at a fancy restaurant and i never needed to tell them my name. I'd usually just walk up to them and start off a convo. like,"Isn't it such a beautiful day?" and they'll be very impressed. usually the older folk :-) since its more casual you'll have no problem using slang to certain people. dont worryyy

i was just thinking, you dont need to welcome them to the restaurant cs they obviously already know where they are. you can just get straight to it and ask them what they'd like to order.one time this while i was browsing thru the menu, this waitress came round to me and recommended something; very impressive! so just give anything a shot.. goodluck :-) be yourself and oh! smile :-)
