  1. pictures of the two of you on your wedding day......a love note.....congrats and thanks to both of you for the sacrifice you are both making for us!

  2. A gift card for your love! When he needs it. He will get it!

  3. Traditional 1st year anniversary is paper.  The modern day 1 yr. gift is a clock or watch.  If you would like to stay with the traditional type gift, I would say possibly make him a scrapbook full of pictures, love letters and anything else you can think of to include in it.  Of course an anniversary card is paper also.  If he reads, send him some books or magazines.  You could send him some stationary to write letters to you on.  My son said the pictures of the family is what helped him the most during his tours in Iraq.  You could fix him up a small box with several things in it.  I'm sure he will appreciate anything you send.  My heart goes out to you.  I know how we felt when our son was deployed and I'm sure it's as hard or harder on you.  Good luck in getting everything together.  Use your imagination and make it memorable for him and also for you.

  4. A lock of your hair, a card sprayed with your favorite perfume, a picture of the two of you on your wedding day in a special frame, a piece of your clothing that he finds attractive and alluring that will always remind him of you ...

Congratulations and best wishes on your anniversary!

  5. That's tough! Don't send him any electronics for sure, sand, ughghgh. Maybe a phone card and a video message. My husband likes more-recent photos when he is TDY or Deployed. Something simple, you can celebrate for real when he comes home, you don't want to send too much stuff over there.  Good luck!
