He's 21...I've sent magazines, video games, food, snacks....I ask him for ideas and he's like, "Easy Mac and Yoohoo's" LOL ....I just KNOW there's something he could use that maybe he's not thinking of!

  1. Aside from just keeping in touch, ask what stuff he misses from the PX.  I know a fellow that was over there and said his PX has pretty much everything.  It's got to be missing something that he likes, though; a favorite brand of cigar or chewing tobacco or candy, etc.  You can't get everything everywhere.

  2. I sent a home video to my friend nick who's in the army, while it wasn't totally about HIM I knew he would really want to see it because he was a BIG part of the making of the movie! So I think you should get a video camera and a bunch of people together and they can say on camera things like "they miss him...." and such. I think he would really appreciate it! =)

I have the INTRO to that movie uploaded to youtube if any of you want to watch it. it's only two minutes long.

^^The nick in the intro is the one I mentioned above!

  4. Besides what the other ppl said my husband asked me to send him personal hygiene items such as shampoo, soap, toilet paper, etc...

  5. Your love and support in a letter is the most valuable thing you can give.

  6. Send a Scope bottle filled with Vodka. I'm sure there'll be plenty of people who disagree but keep in mind I spent time in Afghanistan and when my parents sent that mouthwash bottle the platoon had a good night. I'm not advocating getting wasted before post or going on patrol tanked. After getting back from a mission with a day of down time ahead a couple moderate drinks with your buddies really relaxes you. Its a different environment over there and a drink will calm the nerves much better than a YooHoo or a letter that says "We miss you, come home". Just my two cents take it as you will.

  7. believe it or not, the best things you can send are a written letter with news from family and friends and some pictures of family and friends.  If he's into books, candy, games, snacks, too that's good...but nothing beats letters and pictures from home.

  8. its hot as h**l over there so almost everything melts, It was 136 degrees over there today so just ask him , or his buddies I am sure they would appreciate stuff if he don't want something
