  1. It's easier to speak Japanese first than to read or write it. If you're getting started, here's an interesting, free book that should be helpful with vocabulary. It's called Speak Japanese Fast by D. McGimpsey.

  2. This depends on what type of learner you are.  Some people finds it easier to start with one of the methods, while others finds it differently.

    Ask yourself these questions:

"Do I pick up lines from TV shows, radios etc and can just speak/pronounce it (doesn't matter if you know the meaning.)?"  or

are you the analytical type who likes to see the sentence and dissect each word's functions and meanings?     or

do you enjoy reading at it first?

Ask yourself these questions and you'll know where to start.

    good luck

  3. First thing you should do is learn hirigana, then katakana, then kanji

  4. Learn to read it first, then try speaking it, and then integrate writing practice from there.

It's in order of easiest to hardest, but above all it's in order of the best way to learn the language.

  5. i also want to learn japanese...

    as how i started...

i first start with how they speak, write in letters(not the japanese letters, the a,b,c letters) the romaji... now it's hard for me to understand kanji...

  6. Speak and read it. Then write it.
