What should I study in my drivers book to get my permit?

I take my test in October and I really don't want to read the whole book so what are some important things I should know instead of reading the whole book?

hey, feel your pain. i took my test about a month ago and really regretted reading the whole book. i can cut the book down to about half of it. you seem like a smart kid, just read every other word and piece it together. =] im sure you'll be fine.
