Question:

What should I tell my boss?

I made a fatal error while working at the office in about 2004, I was really worried that my boss would be furious, as I have made many mistakes before, and so I decided to go home, by climbing through the toilet window and scaling down the building..

I have been in hiding ever since, I don't go near the office, I only ever walk to my local shop..

I cut off the landline and stopped any attempts for my work to contact me, I have however, continued to leave my bank account open to payments, which as far as I know, I am still getting payed through?

I live with my girlfriend and mother, and we don't talk about my situation as it worries me and I have panic attacks.

Should I move on and get a new job, go back to the office if its still there and just work as if nothing happened, or should I contact my boss and explain the mistake I made with the spreadsheet database?

I need help, because my life has been controlled by this for such a long time now.

Thanks

  1. Well, I would advice to find a good job and forget any past events in this situation. It's been years and things have changed like anything within this time, so going back to past means wasting more of your time. Take a break, stop thinking about any such things, start new work, make new friends and live a better life!
