  1. As much as I'm against kill-traps....I'll answer the question anyways.

It's a common misunderstanding that you should put cheese on a trap to attract rodents, but it's not hugely favored and rats are smart enough to grab the cheese without getting caught in the trap.

Actually, they are more attracted to peanut butter, and it's harder for a rat to remove the ''bait'' without getting caught.

EDIT: I have used the sticky traps before, but I was home all day, and would release the mice once they got caught (thick gloves, lukewarm water, and patience to carefully remove the mouse from the trap without causing harm) I only used them, because the live traps were nowhere to be found.

  2. peanut butter is the most commen bait.

Have you considered live traps? They are far more humane and are very simple.

But if you insist on using snap traps, I recommend penut butter.

Please though, don't use sticky traps. It doesn't kill the rat. They sit there for days and starve. Do you really want a live, starving rat in your home? stuck in the same spot for days? And it's not like you can toss it once the rat gets caught. Because it's still alive and fighting, your likly to get bit and thats not fun.

  3. Delicious stuff with a scent.  Peanut butter, bacon or bacon grease, jam, will all work well.

  4. peanut butter completely works. also you might think about the sticky pads in the places where you know they are running-i know it is not the most pleasant thing to see but it does work.

  5. peanut butter
