What should I use to replace my fan?

Its hard for me to sleep with out noise so I use my fan to help me go to sleep. However, as the weather adjusts the fan becomes too cold to turn on. So do you know of any other type of electrical appliance that makes a soothing noise to help me sleep? Thanks :)
