I am going for 3 weeks of holidays to Vietnam and Cambodia. I like monuments, food, and a bit of beach. A bit of nature is fine, as long as it is not dangerous.

What would you recommend me to visit?

  1. Hi there,

Three weeks is long enough for Vietnam and Cambodia. I recommend you start in Hanoi, Vietnam and travel down to Ho Chi Minh City, where you can take direct flight for Angkor Wat in Siem Reap, Cambodia after 2 night beach stay in Phan Thiet.

For further information, you should visit www.directravelasia.com or email us at info@directravelasia.com details. We are one of the most professional tour organisers based in Vietnam.

    Good luck,

  2. Yes, I like Cambodia also but its so poor in some areas it's scary.  Not unsafe scary, just sad scary.

Visit Phom Penh, stay in the area along the river, visit the Killing Fields and Tuol Sleng Museum, also stop by the national museum.

Hop a bus down to Sihanoukville and visit the beach for a couple days.

Head across Lake Tonle Sap to Siem Reap,  visiting the Floating Village of Chong Kneas and Angkor Wat. Allowing a day over and one back, along with 2 or 3 in Seim Reap.

I wouldn't try to make it up to Han oi but stay in the South of Vietnam, your time will be tight.  So around Saigon, maybe a trip down into the Mekong on a couple day tour, visit Da Lat in the highlands up to Na trang, Hue and Hoi An.  Take a look http://vietnam-now.com     Doug

  3. Hi! I just went to Hue and Saigon and got back a week ago. Some really cool tourist spots for you to visit in Hue would be Da Noi (palaces of the old kings and queens), the Thien Mu Pagoda and at night, the Tien Bridge is awesome to visit. It lights up and changes colors. During the day; however, if you go to Le Loi street, you can see the bridge and pedal a swan across the river for 40,000 an hour. These are the main tourist attractions in Hue as it is not very city-like. Oh, the Dong Ba Market would be great to visit if you would like to purchase souvenirs or anything. But near Hue, there are the Dong Phong Nha (caves- there are 2; one in water and a dry one). It's a 2 hour drive from Hue. Also, there is the famous Thuan An beach near Hue. In Saigon, if you ask for tourist attractions, they will tell Ho Thuy Tien (which is like a mini Waterworld) and Dam Sen where there are many sceneries and even an ice cave. However, I think in Saigon, people like to go to malls like the Diamond Plaza and go bowling and the arcade.

  4. I just got back from Cambodia- and loved it!  You HAVE to go see the killing fields.  The entire Pol Pot thing was horrifying and eye opening.  They have the more amazing Buddist Woks there as well.  Oh, and visit the markets beacuse you can a pair of Puma's for about 10 bucks.  But really, the people of Cambodia are it's real treaure.  (Whoa. how corny did that sound?)

  5. Angkor Wat in Cambodia, the killing fields.... you can see a lot of temples there, an interesting history. Kind and friendly people. new hotels to choose, relaxing place because you could see a lot of spa out there..... good food.
