  1. All you need is to be presentable and look like somebody who can work with the weak and frail.

  2. Don't wear jeans. YOu don't need to run out and spend $500 on an outfit, but you should look professional. SHow them that you care, wear a collared shirt and khakis or something similar.

WHen I volunteered at a hospital, I was not allowed to wear jeans and I was asked to wear a collared shirt.

  3. if you really want the job, even just volunteer, dress to impress, and it's always better to be over dressed than under, granted I think a suit and tie is a little overkill.  I would go with a button down shirt, avoiding red, and slacks.  Make sure your belt matches your shoes and don't wear tennis shoes or sneakers.  For a hospital job, since you're not a doctor and you are a college student, I would say a tie is uncalled for (unless you want to wear one), but make it "fun and charming", and wear an undershirt.  Even if you are sweating during the interview, and undershirt can do a lot to cover up any sweat related signs of nervousness, plus when you put on that third layer of deodorant, the white won't be on your over shirt, it'll be on the under shirt.
